Kuali Coeus Email Service Setup 

 

In KC, there are mainly two types of email services in place. One is Rice generated email, mainly from KEW actions. Another one is KC generated emails, like, all custom notifications generated from IRB actions, correspondence generation actions and other KC custom notifications.

 

Setup:

 

kc-config.xml parameters

 

Parameter Name

Description

mail.smtp.host 

Mail server host name

mail.smtp.port

Mail server port

mail.smtp.username

Mail server username if smtp server needs authentication

mail.smtp.password

Mail server password if smtp server requires authentication

mail.transport.protocol

Mail server protocol(smtp or smtps)

mail.smtps.auth

Set its as true if mail server requires authentication (true or false)

 

KEW specific parameters in KRCR_PARM_T:

Note that all KEW related email parameters are defined under the namespace ‘KR-WKFLW’

 

Parameter Name

Description

SEND_EMAIL_NOTIFICATION_IND 

Set as ‘Y’ to send emails from KEW action list

EMAIL_NOTIFICATIONS_ENABLED

Set as ‘Y’ to send emails from KEW action list

FROM_ADDRESS

This email id would be used as default ‘from’ address to send emails from KEW actions.

EMAIL_NOTIFICATION_TEST_ADDRESS

If application is not in production mode, all emails will be sent to this address from KEW actions. It looks for prod.env.code and environment parameters in kc-config.xml file to decide whether system is in production mode.

Description

EMAIL_NOTIFICATIONS_ENABLED

Set as ‘Y’ to send emails from KC Notification service

EMAIL_NOTIFICATION_FROM_ADDRESS

This email id would be used as default ‘from’ address to send emails from KC Notifications.

EMAIL_NOTIFICATION_TEST_ENABLED

Set as ‘Y’ to enable KC email service in TEST MODE.

EMAIL_NOTIFICATION_TEST_ADDRESS

This address would be used as ‘To’ address for sending emails, if the email service configured in TEST MODE.
