  • Initiative to seek new partners for KPME
Project Update
  • Technical resources are being split between timekeeping and leave management
  • Allen is working on Rice 2.0 upgrade
  • Timekeeping
    • IU's implementation has been delayed by their upgrade with Rice 2.0
    • VivanTech is looking at options with a cloud based solution starting with sandbox for institutions to upload their data to see how TK can work for them
    • ISU is looking to implement TK for their internal IT department before the end of the year
    • SJD will be looking to implement early next year
    • Encouraged schools to implement which will add value to the overall KPME project
    • If interested, Lora and Allen can provide assistance with implementations
Kuali Days

  • Call for proposals has been announced with deadline of June 15th
Kauli Days 2012 Call for Proposal

Biodemographics discussion
  • Need to identify data requirements for KPME
    • Data fields that are in KIM
    • Data fields that should be in KIM (data that could be used by other Kuali projects such as visa data for Kuali Student or educational background for Coeus)
    • Data fields that are used only by KPME
  • Need to generate list of needs for KIM (i.e. additional data fields, using effective dates, address validation)

Thursday, April 26th - Position Management

ER Diagram changes
  • Salary Group
    • Standard Hours Frequency (will have options of Week/Month)
  • Position Class
    • Standard Hours Frequency
    • Instructional (Y/N)
    • Clinical (Y/N)
    • Credentials Ck (Y/N)
    • Finger Print Ck (Y/N)
  • Position Data
    • Standard Hours Frequency
    • Changed Qualifications to Required Qualifications
    • Appointment Type with look up table to Position Data - no logic, but schools can use for their own customization
    • Eligible for Renewal (Y/N)
    • Instructional (Y/N)
    • Clinical (Y/N)
    • Credentials Ck (Y/N)
    • Finger Print Ck (Y/N)
  • Changed Faculty Responsibilities to Position Responsibilities
    • Responsibilities lookup could be organized by Salary Group
Define FTE, Pay Months, Work Months
  • What do these fields/terms mean at your institution?
  • Where and/or how is this data used?
  • Need to ask these questions to different areas on campus i.e. budget office, payroll, human resources, institutional research, etc...
Position Maintenance and Workflow
  • What other Action Reasons may be needed?
  • What roles are involved in the Position Maintenance workflow?
  • For every Action Reason, review what attributes are involved and the routing that will be required (i.e. funding change requires fiscal office approval)
  • If different routing requirements exist for the various Action Reasons, it will be better to create additional documents (instead of just Create New Position and Modify Position). Setting up different routing is easier by document than by Action Reason.
    • Could still search on parent document type of Position Document
Position Maintenance, Job Impact, and Rank
  • Discussed whether changes to Position should have the option to propagate to Jobs - will decide later
  • Decided that Rank that is earned through the tenure process is an attribute of the employee, because the faculty member retains the rank even if they move into a non-faculty job
  • Rank is not held after a person retires (at least at some institutions).
